So, it’s been a long time since we’ve updated and lot has
happened. First, since I’m sure that
news of my health has already made its way around the family, I want to let
everyone know that I’m ok and am at home recovering from my bout with
pneumonia. The whole thing has been an
eye-opening (and dreadful) experience for me. I had no idea that my health could become so compromised. It began with a chest cold. I didn’t think much of it at the time. I thought it was just your run-of-the-mill
cold that I’d get through. I ignored it
for two weeks. But, at the same time, I
was working very long hours (as the end of year is busy in our office), and
that, combined with the cold, and the fact that I don’t sleep as much as I
probably should (usually only 5-6 hours each night), all resulted in my having
pneumonia in both of my lungs. I was
hospitalized for six days and treated with IV antibiotics. Now, I’m at home, resting and on oral
antibiotics only. Luckily for me, the
entertainment business closes down between Christmas and New Year’s so I’ve got plenty of time to recover.
OK, enough about that stuff.
Aidan has been growing like a weed. He’s already starting to coo in response to
our talking to him (see below video). He’s
a bit camera shy in the video but we can actually “talk” with him for 10
minutes at a time and he just goes on and on like he’s actually conversing with
us. He even tries to stand when we set
him on his feet and everyone is impressed with how strong he is. He’s a “big hit” everywhere we take him,
especially with the ladies who think he’s adorable if not downright
handsome. Hence, his new nickname as of
late, “Pogie”.
Recently, we were able to have lunch with our friend, Casey
Austin

, who was just in town for a few days to finish shooting scenes for a
film she’s in. We also ran into our
friend, Olga Nunes

, who we haven’t seen in almost a year, just strolling along
on the 3rd Street Promenade. Rich,Steph, Vince, Debbie, Christie and I also had the chance to hang out with our friends from Van Nuys High at
the Holiday Party

our little clique throws every year. It’s been nice to catch up with our old
friends. Lastly, we’ve been very
fortunate that Christie's best friend (and
maid of honor), Courtney McKillop

, has been in town to help us with Aidan when
I was in the hospital and also here at home as I convalesce. I want her to know that I really appreciate
her help.
The holiday season has been
very busy for us. We took Aidan on his first road trip to spend Thanksgiving in Woodland
with Christie's family. In between Thanksgiving and Christmas, was Nico's Baptism
, which was a nice, quiet and dignified affair (other than the a few of us getting delayed to the event due to a holiday parade closing off a few streets), followed by a little get-together at Vince and Debbie's house. Aidan got his first picture with Santa Claus at the Santa Monica Main Place Mall. Of course, the most exciting news
of the season, was that Aidan got to play “Baby Jesus”

at the Christmas Pageant at our church, St. Augustine by the Sea
. He was very well-behaved and
didn’t cry or even make a peep during the service. Then, we whisked off to Saugus
to have Christmas Eve Dinner with the family

at John and Andrea's house Christmas Day itself has been restful. Christie, Aidan and I just spent this Christmas (Aidan's first one!) at home

enjoying each other's company.
How are all of you? Let us know! Hope you enjoy the new photos in the links above!
Love,
David
